Red Hill Community Sports Club is home to some of the area’s oldest sporting and community groups. Thanks to the generous support of the Brisbane Broncos Leagues Club we are able to keep costs to Community Groups low and allow some Charity Groups to use the facility at no charge.
Normanby Rugby League Football Club
Normanby Rugby League Football Club established in 1947 is one of Brisbane’s most successful amateur football clubs. Currently playing in Brisbane’s Second Division, Normanby has won premierships in Shiftworkers’ League, Commercial League, Metropolitan League, Public Service League and more recently Second Division.
As well as a Second Division team, Normanby now fields a team in the Brisbane A Grade Competition and is a feeder club to Souths Logan State League team.
Home of the ‘Hounds’ is the Doghouse Bar and Grrrill located at the Red Hill Community Sports Club.
Ashgrove RSL Sub-Branch
The Ashgrove RSL Sub-Branch headquarters itself at the facility. Formerly the Ashgrove RSL stood the other side of Ithaca Creek, a stones throw from the current facility. Drop in and see the fantastic murals tracing Australia’s Military History from Anzac Cove to Afghanistan. Soon to be added the long awaited Shrine.
Red Hill Community Sports Club
Red Hill Community Sports Club – Pennants Bowlers continue the tradition of the original club on the site, Ithaca Bowls Club. Playing this year in 5th Division, the Red Hill Bowlers will continue the tradition established in 1931 in the Brisbane Pennants Competition. The main bar will be shared with the RSL and the bowlers section will be called The Old Bowler.
Normanby Social Bowls
Normanby Social Bowls have their home at 22 Fulcher Road as well. Established in the 1960s by ex-footballers, Normanby play in a triangular competition with Newspapers and The Gap Social Club for the Normanby Shield. The club also travels away for weekend bowls trips to a number of clubs including Caloundra and Evans Head and Condong in NSW. Look at what’s happening on our new Facebook page.
Goodsports Social Bowls
Goodsports Social Bowls who play their home games at the facility. They host other social teams such as the Pummicestone Pirates and also travel away for bowls trips as well. They will play Normanby Social Bowls this year ‘home and away’. The local derby will be a highlight of the social bowls calendar.
Newspapers Social Bowls
Latest addition to the stable is Newspapers Social Bowls who will play their home games at the facility. They host other social teams such as The Gap Social Club and also travel away for bowls days. They play in the tri-series which involves Newspapers, Normanby and The Gap.
Newmarket Probus Club
The Newmarket Probus Club is open to retirees and semi-retirees and meets on the second Wednesday of each month between 9.45am and 12 noon for a short meeting followed by morning tea, fellowship and a talk from a variety of speakers. Anyone interested in joining the Newmarket Probus Club should phone the president on 3818 8680 or just turn up at 9.45am on the second Wednesday of each month.
Brisbane Concert Orchestra
The Brisbane Concert Orchestra (BCO) is a vibrant community orchestra with their base located at the Red Hill Community Sports Club.
They perform a vibrant mix of classical and light entertaining music regularly throughout the year at both community and corporate events. Find out how you can book the BCO for your special function. Go to email@example.com

Red Hill Folk

The Folk Choir
The Folk Choir sing at the club every Thursday night from 7:15 to 8:45pm. New singers are most welcome, just show up on the night.
Other Community Groups using the facility include the Queensland Orchid Species Society, the Mount Coot-tha Day Orchid Society, the Queensland Orchid Society, Brisbane Grammar School, The Gap High School, Ashgrove Memorial Kindergarten, St Finbarr’s Primary School and the Broncos Indoor Bowls Club.
